If you have one our East Leake email accounts or if your web page /website is hosted with us, the following instructions will help you to set up and handle your mail using an email client such as Microsoft Outlook. The settings are good for all client software.
Follow these simple steps and you should be receiving and sending email from your computer or mobile device within minutes. First of all, find the Tools menu option as shown in the diagram then select E-mail Accounts.

Now, we want to create a new email account so check the box and click Next...

The type of email account is POP3 which is short for Post Office Protocol Version 3 so check that option...

The next step is very important so make sure you enter all the information exactly. One single wrong character here will ensure that you won't be able to send or receive email. Enter your name, the name of your business or whatever you want this account to be know as.
Next, enter your E-mail Address exactly as supplied and enter it again in full as the User Name after making sure that the default username is deleted.
Now enter your Password which should be a mixture of letters and numbers for the best security. Choose something that only you will find easy to remember and where there are letters 'i' or 'o' try replacing them with numerals 1 and 0 for example.
The Incoming (POP3) and Outgoing (SMTP) mail servers are the same - mail.east-leake.com - which is essentially where your mail is stored until you read it and/or delete it.
Remember that if you view your email online via the Webmail feature, it will remain on the server unless you delete it. However, if you download your mail into Outlook or some other email client, it will be deleted off the server so you will no longer be able to access it using Webmail.
Next click the More Settings button in order to set authentification - now ehere near as complicated as it sounds...

Under the General tab you can enter a name by which to refer to the account. This will appear in your list of email accounts so if you also have Yahoo mail and Hotmail accounts in Outlook, you will need to know them apart. You can also enter ayour name or the name of your organisation here, plus a different email address if you wish the reply to go to elsewhere - perhaps another department or individual. Now click the Outgoing Server tab...

This setting is also crucial because if you neglect it, you will not be able to send email. The Outgoing server requires authoentication - which essentially means that unless Outlook provides the correct password (which you set earlier) no mail will be accepted by the server. This ensures that nobody can send spoof emails via your account. By default the incoming server will also use the same setting so your email is secure and private. Make sure both these settings are checked as shown. Now click the OK button.

That's it! You should now be able to send yourself a message at your new email account and receive it back in a matter of seconds. If nothing happens, simply go back to the beginning but instead of choosing Add a New Email Account, select View or Change Existing Email Accounts.
Go through each step and check all the details for errors or omissions because 99% of problems are caused by something as simple as a missing dot or forgetting to set authentication. If you still have problems, send a message and someone will contact you to talk you through it until you find a solution.
